The Toledo Mud Hens and Ohio 529, CollegeAdvantage, teamed up this summer to help Northwest Ohio families hit a home run for their education goals with Home Run Readers. The summer reading program, which is run in conjunction with Toledo Lucas County Library encourages families to read together to prevent to prevent summer slide.
One lucky Mud Hens fan received the grand prize of a $2,500 college savings award to add a CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 account. The winner, Christa Entenman, is splitting the savings award among her children’s Ohio 529 accounts.
Christa was unable to attend the Sept. 17 game against the Columbus Clippers. In her absence, Christa’s mother, Cindy Lee Meadow-McCauley and stepfather Joseph McCauley joined Trisha Good, executive director for Ohio’s 529 Plan, for the on-field check presentation. The family then watched the game from a Mud Hens suite. The second-place winner Jessica Hoffer, and her husband, Woody, and their children, Nate and Aunica, joined them in the suite to watch the win over the Clippers.
Congratulations to all our winners! Thank you to everyone who participated!
