Ohio’s many professional sports organizations make sure to give back to their fans and local communities in a variety of ways. Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage is proud to support their educational and standards-based programs across Ohio, programs that emphasize students’ academic achievement, health and wellness.

Ohio 529 is the presenting sponsor of the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund Redlegs Run. Race proceeds support the Reds Youth Academy and other efforts to improve the lives of youth and to improve the Greater Cincinnati community.

Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum’s Extra Innings, also presented by Ohio 529, offers educational programming for pre-kindergarten to 12th-grade students to augment classroom curriculum and is correlated to the Common Core State Standards.

Ohio 529 is the presenting sponsor of the Book Jackets program from the Columbus Blue Jacket Foundation, a reading incentive program that encourages central Ohio students in grades K-8 to spend more time reading.

The Cleveland Guardians and Ohio 529 sponsor “Fun at Bat,” developed by USA Baseball, to augment K-5 physical education throughout Ohio. The free program provides introductory level bat-and-ball classroom instructions with an emphasis on character development, literacy, active play, and fun.

For nearly two decades, the Dayton Dragons have offered the Dayton Dragons MVP Program to help teachers motivate and reward fourth- and fifth-grade students for success in and out of the classroom. Since 2018, Ohio 529 has come alongside the Dragons to support this school-based program. The MVP program is for public, private, and parochial schools throughout the Miami Valley, which includes Clark, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Warren counties.

Learning Is Cool is an FC Cincinnati Foundation incentive program that recognizes and rewards students for their academic achievement. The program motivates students to achieve the “A” Honor Roll while providing teachers classroom support in the Cincinnati Public, North College Hill, and Covington Independent school districts. Ohio 529 partners with the FC Cincinnati Foundation  to support the program, which reaches over 24,000 area students each year.

Ohio 529 partners with the Toledo Mud Hens to support the Toledo Lucas County Library Summer Read with Home Run Readers, a program reward students who keep their reading skills strong over summer break.

Ohio 529 CollegeAdvantage is the presenting partner for the Reading Program, offered by the Toledo Walleye. It is designed to encourage K-8 students throughout Northwest Ohio to increase reading time and sharpen their learning skills during the school year.
